Mezza redefines happy hour

Those looking for a happy hour that offers more than the standard drink specials, would be wise to check out Mezza.

The restaurant, located on the West Bay Road, has redefined happy hour, offering a sumptuous daily menu from 4pm to 7pm. On the Refined Happy Hour menu is a selection of tasty morsels all rounded off with a choice of wines, champagnes or lagers.

The menu includes five creatively named platters designed for sharing, each with drink pairings.

Sticky Fingers – a plate piled high with all things guaranteed to get your fingers, well, sticky includes chicken wings, ribs and calamari, complimented by six bottles of premium lager.

Vegetarians would be wise to try the Herbivore Relish complete with aubergine stuffed with goat’s cheese – a particular favourite of this reviewer -house vegetables, marinated olives, baguette and a bottle of Santa Margharita Pinot Grigio.

Indecisive? Opt for The Roundabout, with tuna rolls, ribs and stuffed shrimp, accompanied by a hearty French baguette and a bottle of Hawk’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc.

Seafood lovers, wishing to throw caution to the wind, would be wise to try Finding Nemo – a particularly decadent menu option with oysters, lobster, smoked salmon, scallops and shrimp, all to be washed down with a bottle of Veuve Clicqout.

A lover of cheese? Try the Cheesus Crust, a selection of international cheeses accompanied by a bottle of Avalon Cabernet.

The restaurant’s informal bar area is the ideal place to sit back, relax and recover from the day. Staff are accommodating and only too eager to please, so if you fancy the bottle of Pinot Grigio from the Herbivore Relish menu, but are opting for the Sticky Fingers platter, just ask. All-in-all, it’s the ideal way to end the working day.
