In Grand Court on Friday, Armando Luis Martinez-Hall pleaded not guilty to murder, but guilty to manslaughter after being charged in the death of Silvia Hernandez-Allen last year.
Solicitor General Cheryll Richards said the plea was acceptable to the Crown.
No other details were given. Defence Attorney John Furniss asked that the matter be set for sentencing on Friday, 20 April.
Hall, 52, was charged after an incident that occurred at Pool Lane off Pond Road in George Town on 12 August.
Ms Hernandez-Allen, 25, was a citizen of Nicaragua, as is the defendant.
