Oneke Forde Forward for the Sporting Central Academy Football Team

Twenty-three year-old Oneke Forde plays in the forward position on the Sporting Central Academy Football Club, the new and only National Premier League player from Clarendon in Jamaica. He will showcase his talents in Cayman next month when Sporting Central visits Cayman.

This burly-figured player was the Leading Goal Scorer (23 goals for the season) who propelled his team to win the recently concluded 2006-2007 season of the South Central Super League competition.

Forde donned the colours of his birth parish Clarendon in the Under-12 competition and played in the Under-16 for his alma mater, Clarendon College.

He has been playing for Sporting Central for the past six years when the team was at the Division Two level. He assisted in elevating the team to the Division One level then on to the Major League competition. He was again instrumental in helping them to the Super League competition.

At the Super league level his goal scoring skills played an integral part in winning the championship of this competition and also during the playoffs when his team topped the point standings to cop one of the two places up for grabs at the National Premier League level.

Forde has traveled the Caribbean doing what he does best, playing football for Trinidad’s Professional League Clubs Caledonia and North East Stars and Guyana’s Santos FC.

The soft spoken Forde said that he plans to come to Grand Cayman and score some goals because that is what he does best to give his team victory.
