The Ritz-Carlton’s ballroom was transformed into a sea of red for the Cayman Islands Cancer Society’s Annual Red Dress Luncheon Affair.
The fundraiser, held Thursday, 21 June, kicked off at 11am with a health expo, and silent auction.
The event aimed to raise awareness of heart disease in women – the largest killer. Fittingly, there were ample booths offering health and wellness checks, including blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol levels.
Guests weren’t shy to get checked, also taking the opportunity to garner information on other deadly diseases, including cervical and breast cancer.
The expo, which aimed to promote healthy lifestyles, also included booths showcasing jewellery by Lalique and Tiffany and Co., makeup by Clinique at Kirk Freeport, real estate by Sheena Conolly Sotheby’s International Realty, health providers, including Baptist Health South Florida and Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital and Energy Personal Training and Pilates.
Guests were also able to make bids on a silent auction.
Following the expo, attendees feasted on a three course lunch, followed by key note speaker David Essel.
A fashion show, by Off the Peg, wrapped up the lunch event.
