Cydonie Mothersill wins gold in Rhodes

Cayman’s fastest woman, Cydonie Mothersill, cruised to gold in the 200 meters at the Islands Games in Rhodes, Greece. Alexandra Terry captured silver in the discus for Cayman and Stephon Johnson lept to a bronze in the men’s long jump.

Robert Harris scored a bronze for Cayman in the Olympic skeet shooting competition. Cayman also earned bronze in the Olympic Skeet team competition.

Swimmer Brett Fraser backstroked his way to a gold medal in the 100m Back and Heather Roffey clinched gold in the 200m Butterfly.

The Cayman Islands struck gold in the men’s 4X100 meters relay on the track and Cayman speedsters earned a silver in the 4×400.

Eduardo Torres came up big for the Cayman Islands in men’s tennis, winning gold in the singles final. The Cayman team of Jha and Torres took bronze in men’s doubles play.

Cayman bagged a big gold medal in men’s beach volleyball.

The Cayman Islands finished the Games eighth in the medals race with 11 golds, seven silvers, and five bronzes. Jersey led all nations (30G, 35S, 27B).
