Yentel McGaw has joined a select group of students representing their schools, communities and states as student leaders in a People to People Leadership Summit in Northern California, 8-17 August.
Ms McGaw was nominated and accepted for the honour based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.
She joins others from around the globe to work on an action plan to make a difference in their communities and develop skills to help them lead tomorrow’s world while earning academic or service-learning credit.
Participants, through workshops, presentations, excursions and discussions, also gain insights to guide their educational and professional careers, and benefit from a strong focus on college admission.
All students accepted into the programme must meet rigorous academic and leadership requirements.
The People to People Leadership Summits take place at top US college campuses.
