We don’t want Ronnie

If Ronaldinho joins Chelsea, as rumoured, then Man Utd might as well hand the Premiership title over now. Ronnie’s agent Roberto de Assis was in London, watching Arsenal on Saturday and somehow a link was made with the Brazilian joining the Blues. Arsenal are mortgaged up to their eyeballs so the assumption is that they can’t afford the 50 million price tag. Only our Russian benefactor can afford that. What a fabulous purchase he would be. But with the wealth of talent we’ve got in midfield, including Lamps, Essien, Cole and Makalele, I don’t think Ronaldinho would fit in. He’d unbalance the team. So stay at Barcelona Ronnie, you’re not needed at Stamford Bridge. Anyway we’ve got the world’s greatest midfielder in Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Now you know I’m kidding!

Most intriguing Premiership match this weekend is Man Utd against Sunderland because Keano returns to the Theatre of Dreams hoping it won’t turn into a nightmare. Utd haven’t found their rhythm yet and with Sunderland signing ex-Old Trafford favourite Andy Cole last week, Fergie won’t have any sleepless nights about this fixture. When at Utd, Andy was hot but at nearly 36 we all know he’s gone, eh, Cole.

Liverpool can seal three points with the visit of Derby. The Reds smashed four past Toulouse on Tuesday night in the Champions League. This might just be the season when they stop underachieving domestically. Fulham may strike lucky against a demoralised Spurs. Chelsea should win at Villa and Arsenal will have another sizzling finish to beat Portsmouth.
