Barrie Quappe has resigned as a board member of the Health Services Authority, having served on the Board since 1 August 2005.
Mrs. Quappe’s letter of resignation was sent to the Minister of Health and Human Services Anthony Eden, on 28 September with immediate effect.
Citing personal reasons for her resignation, she said, ‘Over the last two years, it has been my privilege to have worked alongside dedicated and productive board members, who have put in many long hours.’
Mrs. Quappe explained that she has been home-schooling for the past year, but with her child now returned to school, she is looking forward to re-entering the professional realm and to embracing new opportunities ahead.
‘I’d like to extend my sincere appreciation to the honourable minister for the opportunity to serve my country in this way and will continue to serve these beautiful Cayman Islands in the future. I wish all the best for all HSA staff, the serving board members and Chairman Pastor Al Ebanks,’ she said.
Ms Quappe has served as a cardiovascular nurse locally as well as overseas. She is a well-known Caymanian entertainer and radio personality and has hosted and produced a talk show on local radio.
