The Cayman Islands Cancer Society is appealing for volunteers to help with its annual Stride Against Cancer, which will take place on Sunday, 27 January.
The event is one of the society’s biggest fundraisers and is used to help cancer patients and their families with cancer treatment related expenses not covered by health insurance.
The society will need volunteers to help with registration in the three weeks prior to the event and to deliver registration packs to various offices.
Volunteers are also needed at the end of December and the first week of January to prepare registration bags. On the day of the event, help may also been needed, including marshals for the course from 5 am.
CICS General Manager Christine Sanders said sponsorship opportunities for water stations and promotional banners are also available.
Stride Against Cancer begins and ends at the Public Beach on West Bay Road. Participants in the non-competitive event have the option of walking or running either a 13.1 mile course or a 6.5 mile course. Registration for the walk will begin on 2 January.
