Raising matters of concern

I would like to comment on a couple of matters that have appeared recently in the press.

First, the matter of Mr. McKeeva Bush’s comments regarding community unity and his wish that all residents need to feel a part of their country.

That was all we ever wanted, Mr. Bush. We always wanted to feel that we were at the top of the Government’s agenda.

The only problem with Mr. Bush’s statement is that it comes too late because that is exactly what Mr. Tibbetts and the PPM Government have been doing for the past few years.

Our next desire is to see both sides get together and stop the family quarrel.

Cayman is too small for party politics. We went to school together, we played together, we went to Sunday school together and most of us are family to one degree or another.

Our Father God Himself repented when He made man, but He did not use another species to represent him on earth. We have no one else to run the country and two warring parties should get together behind closed doors and clean up their act emerging to run the country in a united manner with no one being forced to step down. We have to live with you all, so show us your God-fearing love.

Secondly, I would also like to comment on Miss Verolyn McPherson’s advertisement titled ‘God is calling all the people of Cayman to repent’. She states that God showed her in a vision that He will pour out His vengeance upon the earth. Why is it whenever someone has something to tell us from God that it is always vengeance?

Did God not say that He will not destroy the earth by water but by fire?

Since God abolished the old covenant Himself because there was fault in it, He made a new covenant with His Son, Jesus Christ.

He came saying ‘I come not to condemn the world but that the world through me might be saved.’

When Jesus was explaining about his coming, He told His disciples that there would be wars and rumours of wars, earthquakes and famine.

He did not say that God would be doing it as vengeance upon the world, merely that they would happen.

Jesus also mentioned that there was a thief that comes to steal, kill and destroy (Satan Lucifer) but He had come to give us eternal life.

Our Heavenly Father has given us a free choice, so why would He turn around and scare us to repent when He knows it would not be true repentance as He does not force us to serve him.
