An Air Canada plane made an emergency landing at Owen Roberts International Airport Saturday after its crew reported smoke in the cabin.
The emergency was called in to 911 around 4.30pm, and police officials said the aircraft landed without incident a short time later.
More than 100 people were on board the plane. Fire crews on the scene said no one was injured.
According to emergency personnel, passengers were kept on board the aircraft while fire crews examined the undercarriage of the plane.
Ambulance crews said no one had been transported to the hospital by 5.30pm.
It’s unclear whether Cayman was the aircraft’s intended destination. Air Canada generally schedules flights to Owen Roberts Airport on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s.
