Cayman’s justice system is in need of additional criminal defence practitioners, Justice Alexander Henderson said at a recent admissions ceremony. He was welcoming Attorney Edward Philip Renvoize to the Cayman bar on the application of Samson & McGrath.
Mr. Renvoize’s admission was proposed by firm partner David McGrath. He told the court that Mr. Renvoize was joining the firm’s criminal defence team.
He said Mr. Renvoize was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2004 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He practised from chambers at No. 6 Park Square in Leeds and his practice was predominantly criminal with a limited amount of mixed common law work.
He also has experience serving on the prosecution team.
Mr. Renvoize, who is from Leeds, studied at the London School of Economics before moving on to the College of Law at York and the Inns of Court School of law in London.
Justice Henderson said he hoped Mr. Renvoize would enjoy his work and time here in Cayman.
