The comic murder mystery, Find the Lady, is set to take to the stage shortly.
Produced by the Cayman Drama Society, the play – written by UK playwright Michael Pertwee in the 1970s – opens Thursday, 31 January, at the Prospect Playhouse, Red Bay.
Directed by CDS veteran and committee chairman Alan Hall, the fast paced drama stars a cast of nine.
Set in the lounge of the Delamere Hotel in Kensington, London, the action kicks-off when one of the guests is found dead in the bath. When, the following day, the hotel’s proprietress – played by Maria Kennedy – stumbles across the body of another guest, residents are quickly thrown into turmoil.
‘This is a play that is going to appeal to everyone, from children to adults,’ Mr. Hall said.
The on-stage action is set to run at just over two hours, with a 10 minute intermission.
Commenting on the reason behind the choice of play, Mr. Hall said the playwrights plays had proved popular in the past.
‘I spent a morning in French’s bookstore in London browsing for scripts when I recognised the name.
‘The Kiwanis Club have staged two of his plays before, Look No Hans and Holiday Shop. Both proved immensely popular.’
The play will be staged Thursday, Friday and Saturday through 16 February. Curtain is at 7.30pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. Call the box office 949-5054.
