The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry is launching a new European office on the French Riviera.
Set to open 1 March in the port city of Cannes, the office will be headed up by Richie Blake, lead surveyor (Europe), who is being seconded from the CISR’s UK office in Southhampton, England.
The new Cote d’Azure address will provide a convenient location for owners of luxury mega-yachts and their representatives as well as commercial shipping interests in the south of France to address matters of registration, crew compliance regulations, legal documentation and other needs of the maritime industry, stated a press release.
‘Opening a Cayman Islands Shipping Registry office on the French Riviera is a significant step for us and for our valued clients in Europe,’ said the Maritime Authority’s CEO Joel Walton. ‘It rounds out our range of global locations.’
Headquartered in Grand Cayman, the Shipping Registry has a physical presence in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Southampton, UK, as well as representatives in London, Greece and Tokyo.
The Registry will host an informational luncheon in Nice on 7 March for shipowners to explain the advantages of registering vessels in the Cayman.
