Cayman Airways is emphasising its safety record following comments made on a recent radio talk show.
‘An unfortunate attempt to tarnish the safety reputation of Cayman Airways was made on a recent radio talk show,’ said a press release from the airline.
Cayman Airways went on to state:
‘Our safety record is an excellent one and has never been questioned. Every Cayman Airways employee, past and present, has contributed to this successful record.
‘Safety and security are integral to everything we do at Cayman Airways and our values guide us to work together to never compromise safety or security.’
Chief Executive Officer Patrick Strasburger said in the press release, ‘Cayman Airways has a company-wide commitment to safety, security and quality. This clearly defined mission is distributed across the company and every employee is dedicated to ensuring that all processes are in place to provide our passengers with a safe and secure service.’
Cayman Airways is regularly audited by local and international regulators such as the Cayman Islands Civil Aviation Authority, The British Civil Aviation Authority, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and the International Air Transport Associations Operational Safety Auditors.
The CEO also stated, ‘While we welcome constructive criticism, we think that unfounded allegations about the safety of our national airline are not in the national interest.’
