West Bay captain Omar Willis hopes his next match will be just as successful for him as last Saturday’s game against Cayman Brac.

In the Money Express Division Two game Willis was in brilliant form, leading his side to a comfortable seven wicket victory.
Brac lost their openers James Reid (4) and Hetram Sohan (5) cheaply. Hetram’s twin brother Sahedao and the Guyanese slugger steadied the side with a slow 16. Steve Coates came in and top scored with 24. The Brac batting collapsed after that. They were all out for 82, resembling a low 20/20 score rather than a 35 overs game.
Willis took 4-20 in 7.5 overs, including three maidens. Steadman Gray was also economical, getting 2-14 in five overs. Anthony Higgins took 2-7.
West Bay opened with the father and son combo of Wayne and Darren Cato who put on an opening partnership of 29, admittedly mostly from extras. Darren scored 7 and dad 10. Willis and George Johnson set about the Brac bowling with ease to knock off the runs. Johnson hit 23, including five 4s and Willis was unbeaten on 33.
West Bay finished on 83-3 off only 15.4 overs.
Willis said: ‘The team performed well. We concentrated on keeping them under pressure and it paid off. We bowled tight and ensured that we made few mistakes.
West Bay don’t have a game this weekend. Saturday’s Money Express Division Two matches are between BrightStaff Greenies Too and Wellys/Cayman Doors at the Smith Road Oval and Pro Plus against UCCI at the Jimmy Powell Oval.
Sunday’s Money Express Division One games are between Prison and Police at JPO and Cable & Wireless Schools against Paramount at SRO.
