APEC gets MRCU contract

The Central Tenders Committee of the Portfolio of Finance and Economics has made a contract award of $315,000 to APEC Ltd for consultancy services for building a new Mosquito Research and Control airport hangar.

APEC will have to lead a team comprising a civil/structural engineer; along with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, engineers and architects with the aim of having the hangar and operations facility operational approximately 18 months from the date of contract signing with the Ministry of District Administration, Planning, Agriculture and Housing.

The MRCU hangar was severely damaged by Hurricane Ivan and it has been determined that a new facility should be built on the site of the existing one.

APEC’s consultancy contract award is separate from an estimated construction budget of $4.5 million.

CTC made the contract award on 28 March.
