Action began at roughly 6:30pm on Saturday 12 April. Some 20 people were out to show their support for the teams decked in eye-catching, bright yellow and purple uniforms.

The game was a fast-paced affair. Both teams went up and down the court in the blink of an eye. Both created excellent scoring opportunities and displayed some fancy passing.

JGHS Mixed seemed to be in control for most of the game. Their goal defense was particularly in form as they foiled many a goal by the Eclipzers.

However, Bodden Town simply had too much firepower for the Stingers. Their players on Goal Attack put themselves close to the net on a regular basis. In addition they were deadly accurate, draining many a shot on the night.

Both teams put up a fair amount of points in spite of penalties. Chief umpire Janet Harris blew her whistle for a barrage of penalties on the night especially goal-keeper obstruction.

At the end of play, the Bodden Town Eclipzers came out on top as they beat the JGHS Mixed Stingers 33-25.

Two other games were slated for the evening. However, due to unseen circumstances, both matches were rescheduled for a later date.

This weekend is expected to see more local netball action. Three games are slated for this Saturday 19 April.

Rising Stars take on JGHS Mixed at court one then Storm Quick Cash ‘A’ take on their ‘B’ counterparts on court two and finally Roma battle Flames on court three.

All games start at 6:30pm. Play will once again take place at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
