Progress doesn’t mean destruction

As I read the Caymanian Compass on a daily basis, I was again saddened to read of the probable loss of the Ironwood forest property to – of all things – a road.

If Mr. Tibbetts really understands that the loss of habitat for creatures and endangered flora and fauna, then why in the world would he support the building of this road.

I do understand the traffic mess on West Bay Road having driven it at all hours for many times on Island.

However, with what has occurred on Grand Cayman over the past 10-20 years–with the loss of so much, this appears to be another awful decision that will affect Caymanians negatively for their lifetime. Progress does not have to mean the destruction of even more precious Caymanian land. That has occurred too often.
