If you are gay, so be it no one can stop it, but we do not have to accept it.
In case you are unaware this island was built on Christian beliefs and if the Lord God above wanted two men to be together or two women to be together he would have made it so.
And all of this wouldn’t have been an issue because we would know nothing about the opposite sex (as it would not exist).
None of this should come as a surprise because we were told this would happen a long time ago in 2 Timothy 3:1-6 and 8-9
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.’
Seeing two men displaying public affection is equivalent to me seeing a man making out with an animal…..it is unnatural.
I agree with Pilar Bush, we as a people are welcoming, caring people; however, we do not apologize for sticking to our beliefs.
As the saying goes, when in Rome, you do as the Romans do.
The people of the US needs to stop trying to conform every place on this planet to be just like them, God forbid….a place that speaks about freedom and human rights and yet takes away the right for a person to pray to God at school or in public….though it is quite OK for them to parade and display their right to be gay in public.
As many gay supporters have said in the last few days: if they are not allowed to make out in the open then they will go some place else where they can and my reply to that is that’s great.
I encourage that. I do not want you to feel uncomfortable or ashamed, just like I do not want to feel uncomfortable or ashamed seeing you.
One of the reasons the Cayman Islands is so popular is because we are unlike other places, which is why I am sure Mr. Chandler chose to come here in the first place.
We have been called bigots, homophobic, idiots among many others, but call us what you may, we have strong beliefs and unlike most countries we should not have to bend them just to fit in.
And that’s my two cents.
