Netball bounces out

Local netball is putting the finishing touches on another season.

This Saturday will see the final game of the 2007-2008 season. At 6:30pm Truman Bodden Sports Complex will see Rising Stars up against North Side.

Jane Kelly and Janet Harris are expected to be the referees for the match.

Bodden Town and Storm Quick Cash ‘A’ were also scheduled to play. However, that match was already played earlier in the season.

Some 50 games were played during the season. Action centred on ten teams: All Stars, Bodden Town Eclipzers, Flames, JGHS Mixed, Maples and Calder, North Side, Rising Stars, Roma and Storm Quick Cash A and B.

The season started in December. The last set of games was played last Saturday. Storm Quick Cash ‘A’ faced Maples and Calder and Rising Stars battled All-Stars.

Bodden Town were also supposed to be in action against Storm Quick Cash ‘B’. However Bodden Town were not able to play and forfeited the match.

Next up after the season finale is the Cayman Islands Netball Association annual awards ceremony. Various trophies will be awarded including most valuable player and most disciplined team.

In addition the winners of the various leagues will be announced.

Times and dates for the awards evening will be announced at a later date.
