Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd. has announced the promotional appointment of Mark Parchment to the position of assistant general manager, Corporate and Commercial Banking Centre, effective 1 August.
He will be responsible for the Bank’s Corporate and Commercial lending and deposit portfolio.
Mark is the first Caymanian to hold this post and is a great example of Scotiabank’s thrust to have locally grown leaders in key positions, states a press release.
Mark and his wife Amy have one daughter, Chanel, and they live in West Bay.
Mark joined the bank on 5 January, 1998, as a management trainee in commercial lending. He has held such positions as account manager and most recently, senior account manager.
Mark also recently completed a 20-month secondment at the bank’s head offices in Toronto, Canada, where he gained extensive experience in the bank’s credit risk, domestic and international banking divisions.
Mark brings to this role his extensive knowledge of banking in commercial and retail lending. He holds an Associate Degree from the Institute of Canadian Bankers and is currently in the final stages of completing his Bachelor’s degree from Nipissing University in Canada.
