Fight leaves two injured

Two men suffered minor injuries following a fight which occurred Friday afternoon on a George Town street.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 1.30pm by a member of the public who reported that four men were fighting on Shedden Road, George Town.

Police and medics responded and found that two men had sustained minor injuries. They opted to make their own way to hospital to have their injuries assessed. A number of vehicles were also damaged during the incident.

It appears that a dispute began at Harold Spence’s Spares and Repairs, and spilled into the street. Police said a machete was used and stones were thrown during the scuffle.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to an officer to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact Sergeant Andy Warner or PC Neville Brown at George Town police station on 949-4222 or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS).
