Student at leaders conference

Krys & Associates is sponsoring the attendance of local student Phillip Pierson at the Global Young Leaders Conference to be held in Europe from July 5 to July 17, 2008.

Phillip Pierson is a year 12 student attending John Gray High School. Phillip was personally chosen by Ms. Debra McLaughlin, past president of John Gray High School, to serve as a Global Scholar representing the Cayman Islands as a result of his strong leadership potential and his excellent academia.

‘I appreciate the opportunity to participate in the Global Young Leaders Conference. I am looking forward to meeting new people my age and learn about issues that affect me and my peers,’ said Phillip.

During his 13-day journey which includes visits to Vienna, Budapest and Prague, Phillip will have the opportunity to examine issues of importance to himself and his fellow peers by visiting foreign embassies and meeting with high ranking diplomatic officials.

Phillip will also have the chance to participate in cultural exchanges and retrace the footsteps of former rulers during his visits to historic seats of power. This will give him an opportunity to develop new ways of thinking and allow him to discuss with his peers important subjects such as the expansion of the Economic Union and the evolving role of the United Nations.

‘I am delighted that our firm has an opportunity to support Phillip as the representative of the Cayman Islands at the Global Young Leaders Conference,’ said Kenneth Krys, Manager Director of Krys & Associates Cayman Ltd.

‘Phillip is an outstanding individual who became involved with Krys & Associates as part of Mentoring Cayman 2007. He has immense leadership potential and we are very proud that he was selected for such an esteemed event. We are of a view that initiatives like this will give Phillip and young people of his caliber access to unique opportunities and contacts that will benefit him well into the future.’
