Cayman’s first ‘Yeah Baby! family expo will be held at the Marriott Beach resort next month.
The free Yeah Baby! event will provide one-stop shopping for baby and family products and services.
The event, which will be held from 9am to 5pm on 30 August, is being hosted by dms Broadcasting which runs 96.5 Cayrock, Hot 104.1 FM , 106.1 Kiss Fm and X107.1 radio stations, and is sponsored by Huggies diapers.
‘The event has been a huge hit overseas and we hope to mirror that success here,’ said Ben Maxwell, dms Broadcasting’s senior programme director.
The first Yeah Baby! expo was held in Los Angeles in 2001 and has spread to several cities in the US, and now to the Caribbean.
As well as featuring various exhibitors, activities throughout the day will include: The Huggies Diaper Derby, a baby race which will feature on X107.1; a Gerber Baby Boogie Contest where kids get to dance to the beats of 106.1 Kiss FM; and a Hot 104.1 FM Gatorade Soccer Skills Area, where children get the chance to check and enhance their soccer skills.
There will also be storytelling as well as the Neutrogena Relaxation Lounge where mothers can kick back and be pampered while dads chill-out playing video games.
Participants can also take part in the ‘Complete Interactive Experience’ which features interactive experiences for the entire family.
And to make sure the babies remain centre stage, there is the Johnson & Johnson Baby Booth – a ‘beautiful baby’ photo booth with giveaway products and samples.
Phil Vinciullo, Network Promotions and Marketing Manager at dms Broadcasting said: ‘Our team is working hard to bring new, creative national and international ideas to the event to make it an experience of a lifetime for the whole family. I am confident it will be the first of many more to come.’
Gina Peck, Progressive Distributors new marketing supervisor, said: ‘We are delighted to partner with dms Broadcasting in this endeavor. It is very exciting to collaborate in introducing to Cayman a phenomenon that is growing in popularity across the US. It is incredibly rewarding to support an event that promotes family interaction and provides entertainment for the little ones!’
