The popular lunchtime restaurant, The Bistro, has re-opened as an upmarket sports bar, Centre Spot.
And, as part of the refurbishment, the adjacent deli is expanding its premises and is set to offer a larger choice of tempting sandwiches, ready-to-go salads, hearty soups and hot food.
With six big screens and a large bar, Centre Spot – located on Mary Street – is the ideal place for sports fanatics to watch their favourite game. Wii addicts will be able to get their fix with monthly changing competitions, from bowling to golf. In addition, the bar will also host regular poker and horseracing nights.
‘We wanted to offer a convenient spot for workers in George Town to watch their favourite game during their lunch hour,’ Centre Spot manager Kevin McGeough said.
‘In addition, Centre Spot will be the ideal place to unwind after work and enjoy a drink.’
Menu favourites from the Bistro, including fish and chips, quiches, wraps, salads and grilled sandwiches, will remain the same due to popular demand.
The sports bar, which opened last week, is due to have its official opening in mid-August.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 11am. Weekend hours will be dependent on sporting events.
