Your editorial of 19 September, ‘To be or not to be’, would be very unpopular in some circles but it was a reasonable position to take and one that is not at all anti-Caymanian.
Indeed it might be thought of as representing the best interest of the population at large.
We are burdened with a political system that lends itself to these situations where motions and bills brought by one’s ‘colleagues’ or fellow party members are automatically passed with a resounding Yea; sometimes without a complete and critical read.
At least this is my conclusion after examining some pieces of legislation.
The alternative explanation is neither encouraging nor palatable.
