The Cayman Islands National Senior Men’s team leaves for Guadeloupe for the next phase of the Caribbean Football Union Digicel Caribbean Cup tournament.
The Cayman squad is in rigorous training and will be short listed soon when technical director Carl Brown makes his final selections for the 20 players who will make the trip.
The team will overnight in Miami where they will play against a club team there in a warm up game before continuing their destination.
Cayman face Guadeloupe on Saturday October 11 at 8pm, tackle Martinique at 6pm and on the Wednesday they face the strong Grenada side at 8pm in their final bid to go on to the finals in Kingston, Jamaica in December.
These teams form Group F of this stage of the Digicel Cup.
Cayman under Brown and his coaching staff won 3-0 against St Martins, drew 1-1 with top of the table team Antigua and Barbuda and 0-0 with rivals Bermuda.
The scorers in the first game against St Martins were Calvin Jefford, Jairo Sanchez and Nikolai Hill; Oriel Taylor scored the equalizer against Antigua and Barbuda.
