Walkers has appointed David Byrne as chief marketing officer.
Mr. Byrne joins Walkers with a wealth of business development experience.
Most recently Byrne worked at UK Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance, where he was global head of business development for the group’s finance and capital markets divisions. Prior to this, Byrne was the head of marketing for the UK finance team at Linklaters where he worked for three years.
“I am delighted to be joining Walkers at such an exciting time, with the inherent strength of the practice across multiple business lines, prospects for further international development and the imminent move to our new global headquarters,” Mr. Byrne said.
Mr. Byrne also has a strong finance background, having initially worked for 10 years with the Barclays Group, for both the investment banking arm Barclays Capital and its international wealth management division. He already has a familiarity with the Cayman Islands and the wider Caribbean, having managed Barclays’ offshore marketing in the region for three years, prior to the creation of FirstCaribbean International Bank, based in Barbados.
The role of CMO is a new position for Walkers and was created to complement the firm’s continued global growth and international recognition.
