A group of Cayman-based runners are holding a quiz next week to help raise money for all the charities they are helping when they take on the gruelling 26.2 mile New York Marathon.
The New York Marathon is on November 2 and to inspire themselves and also raise money for charity, the group is holding a pub quiz night on Thursday 16 October.
The New York Marathon Pub Quiz is organised by Jane Jarchow and with friends Elisabeth Lees, Phillip McGhee, Richard Horton and Nicholas Dixey they will raise money at Fidel Murphy’s Pub on West Bay Road for a variety of charities.
The quiz will have five rounds – current affairs, music, sports, film and true or false. The entry to the quiz is CI$20 per person and they will have a raffle as well.
The charities they are helping include; the Breast Cancer Fund at the Cancer Society as part of the Breast Cancer Gala Dinner and also an orphanage in Tanzania.
They’re also raising money for Whizz Kidz, a charity that provides kids with wheelchairs and Generation NOW, a Cayman Youth Empowering Program.
Anyone wanting to compete in the quiz at Fidel Murphy’s in Queenscourt should contact Janet Jarchow on 916 0025 or email [email protected]
