Whenever there is a big cricket match involving West Indies players Singh’s Roti Shop in George Town is packed.
That is where the cricket fraternity converges to watch the drama unfold.
They were all there rooting for the Stanford Superstars on their way to an easy 10 wicket victory against England on Saturday.
One pleased viewer was Wayne Cato whose four sons – Darren, Corey, Shane and Wayne Jr – are all excelling at cricket and could one day be West Indies players themselves.
Cato said: ‘I expected us to win but not so easily. England were not impressive at all. In their warm up games they were not that impressive.
‘Gayle was serious about what he had to do. This victory gives us a sense of pride and lets us feel good as spectators and shown us that they really take it serious when they have to. I guess $20m is really serious.
‘This is what they have to continue to do because we as spectators need to see better cricket and this has proved that they can do it when they want to.’
