Softball games have to be rescheduled

Rainy weather may be causing havoc with outdoor sports but softball is intent to finish strongly.

The final games of the winter version of the 2008 Cayman Islands Little League Adult Co-ed Softball League are scheduled to be played this week at the Field of Dreams.

The A and B League have a number of make-up games left on the schedule. Almost all have an impact on the upcoming playoffs.

KPMG faces Deloitte Canadian Bacon tonight at 6:30pm in an A League match where Deloitte is trying to prepare for their usually strong playoff run.

Tonight also see Rackams against Motorworld Trojans and Ritz Carlton Royal Jesters taking on Citi Insomniacs. Both games are at 8:30pm.

Another big match-up set sees Coolers looking to nab a second seed against Deloitte Canadian Bacon tomorrow at 6:30pm.

The B League match of the day sees Rackams against PWC B at 8:30pm.

It’s unclear what will become of the games scheduled for last week. All of the matches after Tuesday were cancelled due to rain.

Although the A and B Leagues are having issues getting into the playoffs the C League is already in full playoff mode.

CML Hammerheads are the number one seed. Their record is 10-2 and they have scored the most runs with 207 while allowing a mere 82 runs.

Kroll Risky Business is the second seed. Their record is also 10-2 and they have scored 180 runs while allowing just 68 runs.

Pure Energy slips into the third seed with a 4-8 record. The side scored 146 runs while allowing 159.

The winless PWC Scorpions have the fourth and final seed. They have scored just 46 runs while allowing 270 runs.

All the squads are set to be in action next Wednesday. CML takes on PWC at 6:30pm while Kroll battles Pure Energy at 8:30pm.
