Savannah start with sweep of East End

Last week saw the start of inter-school netball.

Some six games were played in the opening week of the season.

George Town Primary suffered mixed fortunes when their ‘B’ team lost 3-4 to John A Cumber Primary on Friday.

JACPS are the defending champions in both the A and B leagues.

However the GT ‘A’ team scored a resounding 5-1 win in their match against the defending champions.

Over at East End Primary a couple of matches took place between EE and Savannah Primary. In the B League game the zone champions from last year would fall flat losing to Savannah 2-9.

In the A League game defending zone champion Savannah won easily 10-4, earning a clean sweep over the East End natives.

At Prospect Primary two games were played between Prospect Primary and Bodden Town Primary. Both matches were keenly contested.

Bodden Town B would win its game 2-0. The game was a defensive struggle with BT getting the timely scores when it counted.

However in the A League BT would falter by a narrow margin of 1-0. Both teams were evenly matched and missed several shots. Prospect went ahead in the first half scoring only 1 goal and when the whistle ended the game Bodden Town had failed to score.
