George Hicks promises more youth action

Time is running out for youngsters to put their best cleat forward.

Today the George Hicks field will see action from week seven of the U15 Interscholastic Football League.

At 3:15pm Heritage are set to take on Eagle’s Wings while Pace school will host Cayman Prep.

Heritage goes into their match showing good form under coach and GHHS teacher Canover Watson.

Meanwhile Pace looks to add another good performance on the season.

As always GHHS physical education teacher Cyril Gairy and local football coach Gillie ‘Ernie’ Seymour will ensure the pitch is up to standard.

Put on by the Department of Sports the league has eight teams and was set to run seven weeks.

Even with the passing of Hurricane Paloma and several weather-related cancellations all indications are for the season to end at the original time.

Games began in mid-October and have been played twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The last games are slated to be next Monday at 3:15pm. Leading Edge is slated to wrap up its season against St. Ignatius at the Catholic school grounds while New Horizons takes on Triple C at the George Hicks field.
