Co-ed softball is the final stages of the playoffs and one league has much left to be decided.
Tomorrow night will see the finals of the B League at 8:30pm at the Field of Dreams facility off Aspiration Drive in George Town.
At press time the teams in the finals are unclear.
One of two semi-finals took place last night. That game saw the winner of the quarterfinal game between the Master Batters and the KPMG Bounty Hunters against the winner of the other quarterfinal between the Motorworld Trojans and Maples Athletics.
The other was on Monday night as No.2 seed Walkers Warriors took on a surprising No.9 Citi Insomniacs.
Due to the recent passing of hurricane Paloma the playoff schedule has become quite complicated.
Up until Monday the playoffs had seen a lot of surprises. Last week Citi won an offensive slugfest over No.8 LOM Ligers 17-14 before pulling off arguably the upset of the season.
The side would shock No.1 CITCO (who came into the playoffs with the league’s best mark at 9-2-1) by a final score of 10-8.
In other B League action No.10 UBS Swingers had a remarkable showing against No.7 PWC B, doubling them up 22-11.
However they would crash out of the playoffs against No.2 Walkers 14-2.
Meanwhile No.5 Maples Athletics would just squeeze by No.12 Rackams 20-19 while No.11 KPMG would upset No.6 Ritz Carlton Royal Jesters 12-11.
With the B League looking to sort itself the A and C leagues are just about in the books.
The A league finals were played on Monday between No.1 Home Gas (9-2-1) and No.2 KM Ltd (8-4-0).
KM got to the finals by beating No.7 Deloitte Canadian Bacon 15-14 and then No.6 Grout Cayman 19-14.
Home Gas had a much easier time. As No.1 seed they had a first round bye and watched No.4 KPMG A slug out with No.5 Caybrew Chuggers 13-12. They then spring into action and took out KPMG A 16-9.
Meanwhile the C League finals were played last night between Manager Tom Peterson and his No.2 Kroll Risky Business and Manager Colin Doylend and his No.1 CML Claymores.
Both squads actually faced off last week with Kroll coming out on top over CML 10-7.
The double elimination playoff format for the C League saw interesting matches for both teams.
CML would beat PWC Scorpions 1-0 before taking down a resilient ElectraTech Pure Energy 13-8.
Meanwhile, apart from the victory against CML, Kroll would end up beating only ElectraTech 18-3.
