Elite start well

Elite FC started brilliantly in the Cayman Islands Football Association Simon Robshaw Caytech Under-17 Girls League by defeating Stingrays 3-1 at the Annex last Wednesday.

Elite went ahead in the 23rd minute with a header from Jessica Ebanks.

This score was short lived as in the 33rd minute Roselyn Seymour leveled the score for Stingrays ending the first half 1-1.

Elite regrouped and came out fighting to get the clincher in the second half. In the 57th minute Amy Mobley did it for her team taking the score to 2-1.

Stingrays made several attempts to change the scores but the defense line of Elite was too sturdy for their opponents making things difficult for them to go forward.

The winners kept on attacking and in the 62nd minute Christen Jones kicked one more goal into the back of the net bringing the final score to 3-2.

Five teams are participating in this competition this season; Elite FC, Future SC, Stingrays FC Catholic FC and Women’s United.
