The Cayman local running-related events calendar is expected will be full of action almost every week for the rest of the year.
Jump-starting the spring season of road activity, is the FUJI 5K, a perennial season opener sponsored by Cayman Camera, and organized by the Phoenix Athletic Club.
This popular offering, which will be conducted on Sunday morning, 18 January, provides a perfect lead up for fitness awareness to potential participants in the upcoming Cancer Society and Cross Island Relay events.
Assembly point for the out-and-back route is Cayman Camera on Goring Avenue, with race day registration taking place from 6:30-7:15am.
The $15 entry fee includes an event shirt, opportunities for overall performance awards and random prizes, and refreshments.
The first three male and female finishers will receive awards, as will top male and female performers in age groups 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-plus.
Everyone is welcome to this combination of social and competitive togetherness, inlcluding pram passengers, and four-footed friends on leash.
