Gas explosion injures two

Two people were hospitalised Monday morning following an explosion inside an apartment in the Prospect area of Grand Cayman.

Fire crews were called out to the scene on Dogwood Street near Mangrove Avenue around 6.30am Monday.

According to ambulance crews, both people were conscious and breathing but required hospitalisation for burns.

Fire crews were on scene Monday morning investigating the cause of the explosion. Initial reports were that a gas stove had blown up inside a four-plex apartment building.

A third individual on scene reported minor lacerations, but it was not certain if those were related to the blast.
