Swim for love tomorrow

A local swim meet is being held tomorrow night, 13 February at the Lions Pool in George Town.

The meet, open to all, will have a Valentine’s theme and will be produced by Stingray Swim Club in coordination with the Cayman Islands Amateur Swim Association (CIASA) and sponsored by the Ritz Carlton.

Friday’s event will be overseen by the staff of the Lions Aquatic Center in an effort to keep developing swimmers in the water, keep them competing and having fun.

The start time for the meet is 5:30pm with warm-ups at 4:30pm. Entries are due immediately. Event list and entry forms are available on-line at the Stingray website, www.caymanswimming.com.

Competition will be in standard age-groups, the youngest being six and under.

‘Friday night sprint meets are exciting for the kids and are a great way for the family to start the weekend’, said meet director Mike Majors.

‘With just 48 events of short distances sprint meets are fast and fun. Yet they are fully officiated, in comparison to more relaxed burners,’ he explained.
