Maples slug hard

The Winter Adult Co-Ed Softball League continues to produce phenomenal showings week after week.

Week four wrapped up last Thursday at the Field of Dreams facility in George Town.

Many games went in the books with 10 matches concluded over four days.

The action started on Monday as rookie sensations Julius Baer brought their A game yet again as they took down Electratech Pure Energy 21-9.

The other two 8:30pm games on Monday saw the Doghouse Glovernauts rebound to nab a 12-8 win over the slow-starting Ritz-Carlton Jesters while Deloitte Canadian Bacon got a big win over Chuggers 8-2.

Tuesday also saw a trio of games with KPMG A blanking KM Ltd. 12-0, Home Gas holding off Coolers 14-13 and PWC Experience strengthening their spot in the standings taking down the Citi Insomniacs 16-14.

Another triple-header followed on Wednesday. Maples C got a big win over PWC Scorpions 18-1, comeback kids CML Hammerheads fell short in mounting another trademark late inning comeback as they lost to division rivals Fluor 16-13 and Master Batters grounded out a big win over perennial threats Jose’s Escape 5-4.

The week’s action then wrapped up with a whale of a game on Thursday. Maples Sluggers, current B league frontrunners, lived up to their hard-hitting team name in a big way as they absolutely pounded their division rival Senior Frogs to the ground 31-2.

The top teams heading into week five were Home Gas and Jose’s Escape (A league); Vivendi Cabaret and Maples Sluggers (B league) and lastly Julius Baer (C league).
