Mystery writer at Books & Books

Today Books & Books will be hosting a local, first-time writer.

Mystery author Marilyn Jax will visit the bookstore at 7pm for a reading and signing of her first novel, titled The Find.

The event is free and open to the public and copies of The Find are available for purchase at Books & Books.

Ms Jax was a senior government enforcement investigator for nearly 20 years and is a retired certified fraud examiner. She shares her time between Minnesota, Florida and the Cayman Islands and also enjoys spending time in Montana.

The Find was a finalist in the USA Book News’ Best New Fiction category in 2008, a finalist in the Midwest Independent Publishers Association’s Book Achievement Award and a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Award for Excellence in Independent Publishing.

Crack investigator Claire Caswell had seen a lot of snaky dealing behind the scenes of environmental clean-up projects but she never expected to find a murder victim at the bottom of a suspicious dig site.

When a mysterious ancient relic surfaces and her investigation turns up an unexpected relative, and Nazi connections, she finds herself torn between mysteries in both the present and the past.

Working side by side with her love interest – Gaston Lombard, a lead Miami-Dade State Attorney – to solve the seemingly impossible homicide, tensions build and teeter.

Someone does not want Claire Caswell on the case, but why? Spanning three continents and seven decades, The Find, with its vivid settings and haunting characters, weaves a chilling tale of murder, greed and suspense that will seize your imagination and take it for an unforgettable ride.
