Bottom of the table teams Roma and Tigers in a desperate bid to escape relegation dismissed their opponents George Town and Latinos 3-1 and 3-0 respectively in the Cayman Islands Football Association Premier League action last Sunday.
Roma got their glory at the Ed Bush Stadium through hero Philbert Ross who netted all three goals.
Ross scored his first when he and Crag Carridice made some intelligent passes breaking through the George Town defence. He hit his second in the 39th minute when he headed a cross in.
The second half saw George Town coming out with a better defence line up and making some serious attacks on goal but the Roma boys absorbed the pressue.
In the 78th minute however, Garth Anderson pulled one back for GT.
The game got more intense at this time as both teams played their hearts out. Roma propelled by the lead did not leave a gap open to allow George Town a chance to get back and Ross completed his hat-trick in the dying seconds of the game.
Tigers in their game against Latinos played at the Bodden Town play field were always on the attack.
This resulted in a 14th minute goal from Montoya.
Three minutes into the second half the prolific Carlos Powery smashed in a penalty. In the 80th minute it was Powery again who netted to end the game 3-0.
Scholars International earned three points as well last Sunday defeating Sunset 2-1. Leon Whittaker in the 32nd and 87th minute scored for Scholars while Chris Ordolis scored in the 47th.
Elite stopped Future 2-1 as well at the Bodden Town playfield.
