Global offshore law firm Walkers announced today that Fraser Hern has joined its Hong Kong office in the firm’s Insolvency, Restructuring and Corporate Recovery Group.
Fraser Hern joins Walkers from Allen & Overy, Hong Kong where he was a senior associate within the restructuring and insolvency group.
Fraser will focus on insolvency and restructuring work across Asia, including Hong Kong and Singapore, and will work closely with Walkers’ global finance, corporate, private equity, hedge fund and dispute resolution teams.
‘We are seeing a substantial increase in restructuring work given the current economic climate,’ said Guy Locke, global head of the Restructuring, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery Group. ‘We anticipate the trend will continue and we expect that more companies in Asia will be troubled going forward. We are positioning ourselves to meet the demand for restructuring and insolvency experience in the Asian time zones.’
‘Fraser brings valuable restructuring and insolvency experience to the team,’ said Hugh O’Loughlin, head of Asia and managing partner of Walkers’ Hong Kong office.
‘Walkers’ international reach coupled with its high-quality attorneys afford it a unique opportunity to meet and capitalise on the challenges that the current economic conditions present, and to provide a truly first-class service to its global client base,’ said Mr. Hern.
