New exhibit at Full of Beans

Full of Beans Café in Pasadora Place recently launched its latest exhibit. Local painter and sculptor Scott Swing will be exhibiting his works at the café throughout May.

Mr. Swing was born and raised in Canada and is currently living in Cayman where he is drawing inspiration from the outdoors. He is known for creating rugged, fossil-like coral sculptures, which represent the sun-beaten salt-weathered coastline coral of the Caribbean, and shows it from a different perspective.

His imagination and lack of fear to try new things has allowed him to venture into many mediums. While coral is one of Mr. Swing’s favourite mediums he has also created pieces using driftwood, stone, concrete, plaster, glass, metal, fibreglass, oil and acrylic paint.

His emphasis on texture has become the trademark of his work. Mr. Swing’s original sculptures and paintings have been added to private art collections in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Australia and the Cayman Islands.
