Cayman Prep and High School has announced the introduction of a new Corporate Football tournament.
The tournament features some of Cayman’s corporate giants including companies like Maples and Calder, Bank of Butterfield, DHL and Digicel.
The businesses will compete against each other and, as a unique twist, the best of Cayman’s young footballers in the form of John Gray High.
The two month 8-a-side football tournament is the brainchild of DHL’s Sales Manager Mark Woollard.
‘In these tough economic times it is getting difficult to justify paying large entry fees to enter corporate sporting events on the island,’ Woollard said.
‘Cayman Prep have been very generous in helping us host the tournament at minimal cost but unfortunately they weren’t able to enter a team of their own this time around.’
Some of the notable names in the tournament are Cayman national team captain Tom Elliot with Bank of Butterfield and Gary ‘Wiz’ Whittaker on team DHL.
The tournament kicked off on Monday at Cayman Prep as Maples took on Digicel and John Gray
