Companies benefit from Chamber training course

The Professional Development & Training Centre, a division of the Chamber of Commerce, recently offered a one-day seminar for managers and supervisors titled Goal Setting, Appraisals & Motivation, conducted by one of the Chamber’s expert facilitators, Rod Waddell.

This course is one of a three-part series in management skill development.

Participants to this seminar learned how to implement an effective appraisal and integrated rewards system, create performance plans that inspire employee commitment and loyalty, as well as how to drive employee performance and build customer value with unique coaching strategies.

Training courses normally take place in the Chamber of Commerce conference room at Macdonald Square in George Town. Some of the upcoming courses include: Goal Setting for Supervisors on Tuesday, 2 June, Delivering Effective Feedback on Thursday, 4 June, and Managing Your Boss’ Office on Friday, 5 June.

The course schedule for the second half of 2009 is now listed on the Chamber website together with course descriptions. Member businesses are invited to contact the Chamber if they wish to organise a special course for their staff.
