A Day in the Life II artists Nickola McCoy, working in sculpture and installation; David Bridgeman who works largely in multimedia and Kaitlyn Elphinstone, a conceptual artist who dabbles with photography, will all produce their artwork in the public’s eye.

The three will recreate their studios inside the National Gallery’s Harbour Place space and work for 10 days before transforming the surroundings into three self-curated solo exhibitions which will be on view through 17 July.

The exhibit offers people the chance to witness firsthand the creative process of an artist. From 1 June through 11 June, the public is free to view the artists at work between 9am and 5pm daily.

Commenting on the decision to sponsor the artists in residence and exhibition Butterfield’s Marketing and Communications Manager Searlina Bodden said: ‘As Cayman’s community bank, arts, youth, education and culture are big focuses for Butterfield. This is evidenced by our heavy involvement in public and private programming island-wide.

‘Our goal of involvement, enrichment and outreach is enhanced by supporting events such as the Day in the Life exhibit and we look forward to yet another outstanding showing by the National Gallery and the artists involved in this exhibit.’

With three distinctive styles, Mr. Bridgeman, Ms Elphinstone and Mrs. McCoy will be sure to surprise the art community with fresh new exhibition pieces; their results will be put on display beginning on the exhibition’s opening date on 11 June.
