I fully endorse all those who are in support of keeping Pirates Week without changing the name.
Pirates Week has been a long standing tradition of the Cayman Islands and both the name and the activity go hand-in-hand and should definitely remain as is.
To change the name to Cultural Festival does no justice whatsoever to the actual content of this all-important traditional activity. Pirates Week is a cultural festival in itself, which does not need the redundancy of the name change.
Like so many others – natives and visitors alike – I, too, love the Cayman Islands, the people and the rich traditions of these beautiful islands. God bless you.
