Local talent on show

Local talent will again be on show when The New Self-help Community Foundation presents its annual Talent Exposition of the Arts on Sunday, 28 June at the Harquail Theatre.

The Talent Exposition, established in 2001, is a competitive experience designed to showcase and empower local talent in the arts of poetry, drama, dance, exhibition and creative teachings.

The non-profit Self-Help Community Foundation showcases the event each year to expose talent of all types and ages in order to help young people gain valuable development in self worth, independence and community spirit.

Onstage will be performers such as Jamesette Anglin, Soraya Taylor, Michelle T, Jessica Hurlston, Seantel Jackson and other rising stars such as Carrie McCoy Jefferey Wilson, Drue Bodden Rico Orrett Beniel Miller, Lloyd Baker Roberta Jeffereson and Jevaugahnie Ebanks emceed by Lee ramoon, Edlin Myles and introducing Andrel Harris.

The event will also include poetry, dance, skits and musical performances from a number of young and talented entertainers such as the George Town Primary School Dancers.

Also on display will be a collection of fine art by artist Al Ebanks. Gates will open at 5.30pm and the show is scheduled to start at 6.30pm sharp.

Tickets are available at Funky Tangs and Reflections, so get your tickets prepaid $10 or $15 at the gate.

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Sunrise Adult Training Centre and the Foundation’s Youth Empowerment Programme.
