Indoor clutch time

Summer is winding down and so is indoor basketball.

This week marks the fourth round of games in the 2009 Cayman Islands Basketball Association Indoor League.

The league, which kicked off the end of last month, has seen 11 teams spread across three divisions.

Division one of the league sees four teams in Shaolin, Esso Blazers, Wolves and (essentially the Silver Bullets).

All boast plenty of star players from the national men’s league.

The division continues its games tonight at the Arts and Recreation Center in Camana Bay.

At 6:30pm bottom-rung club takes on Shaolin before the undefeated Esso Blazers host the Wolves at 7:30pm.

Meanwhile division two plays its games this Thursday at the same times.

The four teams in the division are all slated to be in action as Digicel Broadband takes on DBI Warriors in the first match before CI Precast squares off with Beer Trouble in the second game of the evening.

The final games in the regular season for both divisions are next week.

Playoffs begin on Sunday August 23 at 4pm and conclude a week later on Sunday August 30 at 6pm.

The other indoor category is the women’s division. Three teams make up the section in the Lady Heels, Esso Blazettes and

The fourth game of that division is this coming Sunday at 3pm.

Games will continue for that league well into September. The final regular season game is on the 8th and playoffs begin the 13th and wrap up on the 15th.
